Angelica

Angelica Panganiban was born in the Philippines. She's now a Filipino American performer, comedian, television host and model. Panganiban has been referred to as the Queen of Drama across different media. Panganiban's versatility and experience as an actress is widely recognized. She was diagnosed with double pneumonia that was caused by a severe strain of strep-pneumococcal. Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Egleston placed her on ECMO an intervention that saved her life. The patient suffered from multiple organ failures as well as kidney failure, which did not fully recover. Her condition forced her to alter her lifestyle around hemodialysis then dialysate for the peritoneal area. In the 80 days she spent in Hospital, the life of her changed for the better. After one year and a half of dialysis Angelica was ready for the most significant operation of her life-her kidney transplant. It was her mother who was the one to donate her kidney. Angelica together with her mom underwent an organ transplant successfully on September 13th 2013 in two fantastic hospitals close to each other: Emory University Hospital & Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Egleston. Angelica Hale, a young teenager from Atlanta, who always wanted to be an actress and a singer, is still pursuing the dream.
