Donald Joseph Qualls (also known as DJ Qualls) is a fashion actor and model hailing in the US. After gaining fame through his role in Road Trip he has since appeared in over 20 feature films including The New Guy Hustle & Flow as well as The Core. In addition to his work on Road Trip Qualls has been featured in more than 22 television programs like Breaking Bad Supernatural Srubs Lost Law & Order etc. Qualls has survived Hodgkin's lymphoma. He was first diagnosed when he turned 14 years old. Two years later, the cancer is now in Remission. Being treated at such a young age had an adverse effect on his body. It hampered his development. Since he grew up in poor circumstances, he was determined to be financially secure. When he was interviewed, he mentioned that if I don't have the financial security or have a feeling of being out of touch with the world I will feel miserable. The man also recalls his early years to help him stay motivated. DJ states "Cruelty breaks the heart of my heart." On and off film, DJ's character would like to play the role of a father. However, he does admit that most directors do not choose him for these kinds of jobs. He'd like to be the father of his child one day in order to spend more time to his son and not be so occupied with his work.
